Just in case you did not know Doris
Day is a devout animal lover and an animal
welfare advocate. Since departing,
in the 1970s,
the glitz and
glamour of Hollywood Doris has been doing all
she can to improve the quality of life for four-leggers.
She achieves this quest through the
Doris Day Animal
League (DDAL)
and her
charity the
Doris Day
Animal
Foundation (DDAF).

In 2006,
the
DDAL announced that it was to join forces with
The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS)
which is America's largest animal protection
organisation.
