We understand that Doris Day’s 2011 album ‘My
Heart‘ has just attained a Silver certification by the BPI (The British
Recorded Music Industry) for sales in the UK. A Silver certified award marks
sales of 60,000 units of an individual album title to UK retailers.
Ms. Day’s “comeback” album was notably a ‘Top 10’ hit in the UK, a ‘Top 50’ hit
in Germany and reached Billboard’s ‘Top 150’ in the USA. It features previously
unreleased song material which she cut after a brief return to the recording
studio during the mid-1980s.
The ‘My
Heart’ album is the star’s first release to attain a prestigious BPI
certified award since the runaway success of her 1993 compilation ‘Doris
Day – The Hit Singles Collection’ which sold over 100,000 units in the UK
alone.
