Richard Harris, the co-star of Doris Day’s zany spoof-spy movie “Caprice” dies
On 25 October 2002, British actor Richard Harris passed away peacefully at
University College Hospital in London.
The 72 year old, acclaimed Irish actor had been undergoing chemotherapy for
Hodgkin’s disease, after falling ill two months before.
Harris collaborated with Doris Day in her 1967 movie spy caper Caprice.
Although the movie failed to kick up a storm at the box office it is considered
a 1960s cult classic. Harris will undoubtedly be best remembered for his roles
in A Man Called Horse, This Sporting Life and more recently playing Dumbledore
in Harry Potter.
