The pairing of singer Doris Day with trumpeter Harry James is an absolute joy. The recording sessions which involved Doris ran over a two day period from the 25-27 January 1950. The enchanting album that resulted from this union was deservingly catapulted to the #1 spot on the American Billboard chart. On 9 August 1954, Columbia repackaged this release for the 12″ LP format with four bonus tracks (“Pretty Baby”, “I Only Have Eyes For You” plus two further recordings featuring Harry James: “Would I Love You” and “Lullaby Of Broadway”). In 1999, Columbia (USA) issued a CD of the 1954 edition inclusive of original LP artwork, in depth liner notes and many movie photos.
